A major agribusiness client approached UVL with a critical task: to design and manufacture bactericidal ventilation modules for large livestock housing facilities dedicated to swine breeding. The site included three large hangars, each equipped with three axial ventilation units providing 20,000 m³/h of airflow. The client’s main requirement was to achieve at least 99% air disinfection efficiency against Staphylococcus aureus, using modules compatible with round ducts of 820 mm diameter.
Our Engineering Solution
UVL developed nine high-performance UV ventilation sections, each tailored for 20,000 m³/h airflow and capable of delivering a germicidal dose of 130 kJ. To ensure effective microbial inactivation without excessive power usage or heat buildup, each section was fitted with 10 high-output amalgam lamps, known for their long service life and superior UV-C emission.
