Ultraviolet Disinfection in Cold Storage: Solution for a Greenhouse Complex

Project Background

A year-round greenhouse enterprise growing vegetables in controlled environments requested an effective UV disinfection system for its cold storage chamber to preserve product quality.

The goal was to suppress mold growth, eliminate airborne microbes, and prevent bacterial contamination of fresh vegetables, all without using chemical agents. The equipment needed to meet food safety standards since it would be positioned directly above the stored produce.

Proposed Solution

We recommended installing two open-type UVL-Aero 100 UV irradiators with shatterproof protective film. This film retains glass fragments in case of breakage while maintaining ultraviolet transmission for effective disinfection. Internal testing confirmed minimal UV loss through the film, ensuring consistent bactericidal performance.

Delivery and Installation

After approval of the technical proposal, a contract and invoice were prepared, covering equipment and delivery. Shipping was completed within 10 business days.

  • Electronic ballasts (EPRA).
